Kingfisher Cottage features a spacious, open plan sitting/dining/kitchen area, ideal for creating a relaxing holiday atmosphere. The ground floor is tiled throughout with a wooden beamed ceiling. The sitting area has a comfortable sofa and armchairs, with a TV for playing videos (large selection provided). The traditional open fireplace makes a wonderful focus for the room, rugs and lamps ensure it is a relaxing place to spend the evening. There is a large dining table and chairs, with a well equipped modern corner kitchen with cooker, fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, toaster etc. Plenty of crockery/cutlery/cooking equipment is provided. Extra sofa/bed for up to two children. Wooden staircase to first floor landing. The spacious double bedroom has a vaulted, beamed ceiling and wooden floorboards with rugs. Comfortable double pine bed, with bedside cabinets and lamps. Wardrode, drawers, dressing table, dressing mirror, chairs etc. The two windows have views over the surrounding countryside.

Kingfisher Cottage can be rented with Sunflower Cottage for two families holidaying together, but preferring to have their own accommodation.

Just 15 minutes drive through the countryside to a fabulous open-air heated swimming pool open to the public during July and August, with water chute and toddlers pool, sunloungers, picnic areas, changing rooms. The area is ideal for walking, cycling, fishing, golf, boating, horse-riding, all are within easy reach. There are many historic and medieval villages to visit as well as local morning and summer evening markets. Leisure/Swimming lake is a short distance away. The fantastic theme park of Puy de Fou is approximately half an hours drive. The Forest of Mervent with a zoo and theme park are close by. The vibrant port of La Rochelle and the magnificent Atlantic coast all within easy distance. The gentle quiet countryside is ideal for walking and cycling. |
