The ground floor of the cottage has tiled floors throughout with rugs. The spacious entrance hall leads into a large comfortable sitting room with
woodburning stove, sofas, TV receiving BBC, ITV, satellite and French channels, as well as a DVD player with a large selection of DVD's provided.
Tow steps lead into the sunny spacious kitchen/ dining room. Originally a barn, it has been extensively renovated with high sloping ceiling, roof windows and original oak beams. Very well equipped to include a cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle etc. with enough cutlery, crockery, glasses, saucepans etc. for cooking and serving at least eight people. There is a pine dresser and sideboard, a round table and chairs which extends to seat several people.
The adjacent utility area has dishwasher, dyson vacuum cleaner, iron, ironing board etc., this leads onto the large downstairs bathroom. The bath has a shower over. The washing machine is situated in this room. The kitchen leads onto the paved patio area with patios furniture and BBQ and the country garden.
The first floor is reached by a polished wooden staircase. It has original wooden floorboards with rugs throughout. The spacious bedroom has a pine double bed, wardrobe and dressing table, chairs, lamps etc., and an upholstered single guest-bed. The window to the front has views over the surrounding countryside. The second bedroom has a pine single bed and bunk beds. Storage for clothes etc.
The shower room has a fully tiled shower, wash basin and toilet.
The cottage is large spacious and bright, comfortable and welcoming for a relaxing country holiday.
Bed linen is included. (Beds are made up prior to your arrival).

Late availability and discounts available. Long/short lets and weekends. Can be rented with Kingfisher Cottage for two families holidaying together, but preferring their own accommodation. Set in a rural farming hamlet, Sunflower Cottage is just 2kms from the historic village of Bazoges-en-Pareds, for a boulongerie, bar and award winning restaurant. Sunflower Cottage is well located to discover not only the Vendee, but the Loire, Charente and Deux Sevres. Extensive shopping in the nearby towns of Chantonnay or La Chataignerie.
Sunflower Cottage is professioanlly cleaned in between lets and beds are made up prior to your arrival. All electricty, gas, water and bed linen is included. There are no extras to pay for.

Just 15 minutes drive through the countryside, is a fabulous open-air heated swimming pool, available for the public. With a water chute, toddlers pool, sunloungers, shady terraces and grassy picnic areas, it is ideal for relaxing on a hot day. Open in July and August in the afternoons, it costs under 10 euros for a family of four. The magnificent Atlantic coast is just under l hours easy drive. Nearby is the beautiful award winning village of Vouvant or visit Puy de Fou or Futuroscope for a spectacular day out. Discover The Marais Poitevin by boat or punt on the canals. There are numerous chateaux, churches and villages to discover, as well as delightful walks and village markets. There are local caves for wine-tasting and several good restaurants close-by. The gentle undulating countryside is ideal for walking and birdwatching.
