This is great walking and cycling country and well signposted. There is good fishing in the river just a 100 metres away, which has a pontoon and is easily accessible. Lake Escourroux (500 metres) and another lake about 7 kms away, are also good fishing spots.
On both the rivers Dropt and Sauvetat (3 kms), you can hire canoes and there is an excellent golf course at Saussignac (20 kms) and riding stables in Ribagnac (15 kms).
Bergerac and the vineyards of Monbazillac and Pécharmant are only 25 kms away and closer, are the Duras vineyards. There are many places to explore in the Dordogne, including the famous prehistoric cave paintings of Lascaux and Eyzies. The fertile fruit growing countryside of the Lot-et-Garonne, dotted with hilltop towns and villages, is to the south of us. A little further away towards Bordeaux is Saint-Emilion. |
